Photography is the practice of creating durable images by recording light either electronically or chemically. Photography is used in science, manufacturing and business, art, film and video production, as well as for amateur recreational purposes and mass communication. Typically, a lens is used to focus the light into an image on the light-sensitive surface inside a camera or, with an electronic image sensor, an electrical charge is processed and stored in a digital image file.
You don't need the most expensive equipment; you can take a wonderful snap with your smartphone. If you're using a digital camera, you can play around with colour, black and white, focus, angles, zoom and effects and the mistakes won't cost a thing. You might end up with something you like and you'll learn a lot in the process. If you're ready to get serious, there are courses for everyone from complete beginners to aspiring professionals.
