Comedy is any humorous performance especially in theatre, television, film or stand-up. Comedy may be enjoyed on stage at a club where comedians perform stand-up. Styles of stand up include alternative, observational and improvisational comedy or satire - in which persons or social institutions are portrayed as ridiculous. Television comedy is often in the form of situation comedy, in which characters share a common environment with humorous dialogue. Television is also the home of the comedy sketch show and mockumentaries.
