A Magic Show is the entertainment of staging tricks or illusions of seemingly impossible feats. Most performers are known as Illusionists but some may be referred to by the type of illusion they present, such as prestidigitators, conjurors, hypnotists, mentalists, or escapologists. Performers may make something seem to appear or disappear, be destroyed and restored, transformed from one state to another, transported from place to place, levitated or penetrate solid objects. They may also escape from restraints or appear to read an audience member's mind. Traditionally, magicians refuse to reveal their methods.
Do you believe in magic? Close up or table magic makes us doubt our own eyes, we trust the pickpocket magician to return our wallet but that mentalist really is reading our minds - isn't he? A magic show is a chance to be amazed and dumbfounded and believe in magic again - if only for a little while.
