An exhibition is a display of art or items of interest in a gallery or museum. An organized presentation and display of a selection of items held in museums, art galleries, exhibition halls and trade fairs. They are usually temporary and open and close on specific dates. While many exhibitions are shown in just one venue, some are shown in multiple locations and are called travelling exhibitions. They range from large events such as a World's Fair exposition to small, one-artist, solo shows or a display of just one item.
The joy of an exhibition is that you can get to see paintings, sculpture or items of great historic, scientific or cultural significance that you might otherwise have to travel the world to see. If you notice an exhibition that takes your fancy - catch it while you can!
