Orienteering is a sport in which orienteers navigate on foot in unfamiliar terrain. This leisure activity has many variations like sprint, night and relay races. Orienteers are given a topographical, orienteering map, which they use to find control points. They race the course against the clock to reach an agreed finish line.
Orienteering tests navigating skills, concentration, and running ability but there are short, easy courses for beginners and more demanding courses for experienced orienteers. If you'd like to be fit, fast and learn to use a compass and read a map, orienteering could be for you.
