Sort out your fun-life! Join local athletics groups. Follow, friend and meet other athletes. Athletics and a whole range of leisure activities.
Athletics is a group of sports that involves competitive running, jumping, throwing, and walking. The most common types of athletics competitions are field events such as throwing Shot Put, Hammer, Javelin or Discus or jumping events such as High Jump, Long Jump and Triple Jump. Track events include sprint, middle and long distance running and hurdling. Away from the stadium, road running, cross country running and race walking are part of the athletics family of sports.
Whether you want to run, jump, throw - or mix them up, athletics offers the widest choice of any sport. Every discipline requires strength, stamina and all round fitness. You can do it just to keep fit or join a club and start competing. If you can't decide which discipline you want to concentrate on and you're a good all-round athlete, then decathlon or heptathlon is for you.
