Strength training is exercise using resistance to build the strength, endurance and size of muscles. Training may involve the use of weights in reps and sets or circuits using high intensity aerobics - although strength training is primarily an anaerobic form of exercise. Weightlifting is an athletic discipline in the modern Olympic programme. Many other sports use strength training as part of their training regime.
