Precision sports require accuracy and precision from participants. Examples include sports such as archery, golf, darts and bowling. They are generally focused less on speed or strength and more on carefully calculated and considered moves. In fact some consider precision sport a fine art! Practice makes perfect, and the more you develop your skill, the more satisfying the sports become. Precision sports are generally competitive. They offer players a chance to challenge themselves, striving to improve their skill and precision in order to earn more points. The competitive element of most precision sports also adds to their sociability, bringing people together for some friendly competition! Although many sports are sociable, precision sports often provide more time to talk - it's easier to hold a conversation on the golf course than the rugby pitch!
Precision sports boast physical and mental benefits. The precise nature of games requires an accuracy that helps improve concentration and patience, and possibly even vision. These sports have a low risk of injury and don't require the same level of mobility as more physically demanding and fast-paced games, so they can be particularly advantageous to those with physical disabilities (but can of course be played by anyone!). In addition to these physical advantages, precision sports can help you to focus your mental and physical energy and take a break from everyday life.
