Team sports involve opposing teams competing to win. These range from popular sports such as football, netball, rugby and cricket to less well known examples such as korfball or lacrosse. What is common amongst team sports is that to be successful teammates must work together, pooling their skills and cooperating with one another. Team sports can be played at any level, from international standard to beginners and can be highly competitive or just for fun. Whether you are looking for a five-a-side football game, a rugby taster session, or a cricket lesson, HulaHub has the team activity for you!
Team sports are intrinsically social, demanding teamwork and communication. You are also more likely to get fitter, quicker, in a team environment. There are three reasons team exercises are more effective than working out alone. Firstly you are more motivated in team activities. In fact there is even a scientific term - The Köhler Effect - for the benefits to an individual of working in a group rather than alone. Secondly group activities make you accountable. In reality you are far more likely to turn up to a football match knowing the team is expecting you, than you are to go on a solo run. Finally there is nothing better than sharing the elation of a win with teammates. This camaraderie, means most teammates become great friends, on and off the pitch.
