Aussie Rules is played between two teams of eighteen on an Australian football pitch. Officially called Australian football, this is a full contact sport in which players can tackle using their hands or their whole body. Any part of the body can be used to move the ball. The main way to score points is by kicking the ball between two tall goal posts. A distinctive feature of the game is the mark, where players anywhere on the field who catch a ball from a kick are awarded possession.
Aussie Rules is a form of football with roots traceable from early forms of Rugby and Gaelic football, but it is uniquely Australian. Loved by Australians at home and ex-pats abroad, this is a fast-paced team game. It involves running the ball, punting, receiving, dribbling, tackling, and, of course, scoring. Aussie Rules is a great way spend your leisure time and keep fit.
