Lacrosse is a team sport using a rubber ball and a long-handled, netted stick. The head of the lacrosse stick is strung with loose mesh designed to catch and hold the lacrosse ball. The objective of the game is to score by shooting the ball into the opponent's goal using the lacrosse stick to catch, cradle and pass the ball. The men's game is full contact and the women's limited contact.
Lacrosse is an exciting outdoor sport and one of the fastest games you can play. It's an intense game needing speed, great hand-eye coordination and a competitive instinct. One of the oldest team sports in the world - Native Americans played a similar ball game with a stick and a net. They called it 'Baggataway' meaning 'little brother of war' because it was used to settle disputes between tribes.
