Bodyboarding is a sport where bodyboarders ride waves towards the shore. Also known as Boogie boarding, a bodyboard is a short, rectangular piece of hydrodynamic foam. Bodyboarders typically use swim fins for additional propulsion and control while riding the crest, face or curl of a breaking wave.
Bodyboarding is all about launching yourself into the breakers and having a lot of fun! It can be enjoyed anywhere there are waves - oceans, rivers, seas or lakes. You usually ride while lying on your stomach or on your knees. The board is made from a light-weight piece of foam which allows the force of the waves to propel you through the water to shore. The stronger the wave, the faster the ride!
