In Water polo teams aim to throw the ball into their opponent's goal. A team consists of six field players and one goalkeeper in the water at any one time. The water polo ball floats on the water, players wear numbered and coloured caps and the goals either float in the water or are attached to the side of the pool. The game consists of swimming, treading water, throwing, catching and shooting the ball using a single hand.
Water Polo is a fast paced game that combines basketball, rugby and swimming. It's fun to watch and exciting to play but it's not for the feint hearted - it's a full contact game and anything goes under the water where the ref can't see!
