Snowboarding involves descending a snow covered slope while standing on a snowboard. Snowboarding is both a leisure activity and an Olympic Winter sport. It has various styles, each with its own specialized equipment and techniques. The most common styles are: freeride, freestyle and racing. These are for both recreational and competitive snowboarding. Freestyle snowboarding is any riding that includes performing tricks using either natural or manmade features.
Whether you want an adrenaline rush, tricks to learn or a gentle descent - snowboarding has something for you. It will get you fit and you'll see some amazing mountain scenery along the way. Soon after learning to snowboard on piste, you can try going off-piste or make use of the growing number of 'terrain parks' and learn some tricks. If speed's your thing, then have a look at boardercross or alpine racing.
